"The Arab Automobile and Touring Clubs Council (ACTAC) officially became a subregion of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in May 2009. ACTAC's objective is to unite the Arabic-speaking FIA clubs in the region to shape the future of automobiles throughout the Arab world. ACTAC's main objectives are: to ensure the unity of the motor movement and protect its interests; to promote, develop, and improve regional road safety, tourism, motor traffic, and transport, and to contribute to environmental improvement; to regulate and enhance the range of services offered to motorists and passengers by exercising jurisdiction in disputes between member organizations; and to assist in the establishment of new automobile clubs in the region and help them gain FIA affiliation.
